Salt & Light is more than a shop — it’s a creative gathering place rooted in faith, family, and purpose.
I’m Kacie, and this journey began in 2006 when my mom, Sherrel, and I opened our first shop together. She was my partner, my creative compass, and the heart behind everything we built. Salt & Light exists because of her influence and the belief she passed on to me: that creativity is meant to be shared, and kindness should lead the way.
The name Salt & Light comes from Matthew 5:13–16, a reminder to bring flavor, goodness, and hope into the world, and to let what we do quietly point back to something greater than ourselves. This space was created to reflect that calling through creativity, hospitality, and service.
Today, Salt & Light is run by our family----me, my husband Rooster, our son Elijah, our nephews RJ and Horatio, and our ever-watchful shop cat, Roofie. We’re family-owned, artist-led, and deeply connected to our community. Nearly everything here is handmade, thoughtfully curated, or created in collaboration with local makers we love.
Inside the shop, you’ll find original art, meaningful gifts, creative workshops, books, journals, and goods made with intention. We don’t chase trends; we focus on purpose. We believe creativity is a gift, community is sacred, and light is meant to be shared.
One of the most meaningful pieces of Salt & Light is our wooden cross prayer wall. Guests are invited to write their prayers on tags and hang them on our 7 foot tall cross leaving burdens at His feet and lifting one another up in love. It has quietly become a place of surrender, hope, and shared faith. Before you go, we invite you to pause, choose a prayer that isn’t your own, and lift it up to Heaven. Every story matters here. Every prayer is seen.
“Let your light shine before others.” — Matthew 5:16
Whether you come to shop, create, or simply pause for a moment,
you’re welcome here.
